TIME TO FILE FOR STIMULUS REBATES:
You have until Oct. 15th to file with IRS for the stimulus
payment – you can get $300 or more.
An estimated 20 million people who normally do not file tax returns with
IRS are eligible for the payment.
Almost half of these have not yet filed the necessary form to obtain the
payment. You
may be eligible if you received at least $3000 in Social Security benefits,
veteran’s benefits, certain railroad retirement benefits or earned income in
2007 – or any combination of these sources.
You
can apply for the payment by filing a simplified version of the 1040A form.
Call Infoline at 211 or IRS at (800) 829-1040 for the local volunteer
site (VITA) if you need assistance with the form REMINDER
