7) Updates:
a) Senior Center Project: Recommended
Motion: Approve and authorize
the First Selectmen to execute the
proposal from Perkins & Will on Attachment “B” updating the savings and
additional services to date.
b) High School Project: Update
provided by Municipal Committee Member Paul Checco.
c) Code of Ethics Ad Hoc Committee:
Public Hearing held earlier this evening. The Board of Selectmen can
make a motion to approve or
recommend changes to the committee’s proposed revised Code of Ethics
Ordinance.
d) Lyme Disease Task Force: Update provided by Selectman Jerry Murphy.
e) Plan
of Conservation and Development Addendum: The Planning Commission will
hold a Public
Hearing on the proposed plan on August 21, 2008.
f) Townwide Water Supply Study: The BOS request for a Townwide Water Supply
Study was not approved
by the Board of Finance.
g) Route 202 Intersection Improvements:
The BOS request for the lowering of Elbow Hill Road was
approved by the Board of
Finance.
h) Senior
Awards: Update provided by Selectman Joni Park.
i) Huckleberry
Art Project: Update provided by Selectman Joni Park.
8) Candlewood Harbor: The Public Works Director
will be sending a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen. There is a request for a street sign
on the private road by four homeowners, to be installed on town
property. Two homeowners oppose the
street sign.
9) Residential Lease Agreement: Recommended
Motion : Approve the Residential Lease Agreement for the
Town owned residence at 35 Obtuse
Hill Road, Route 133, known as the Brookfield Nature Center
commencing on September 1, 2008 –
August 31, 2009.
10) Lake Lillinonah Authority Marine
Patrol Officers: Recommended
Motion: Approve the 2008 Marine Patrol
Officers of the Lake Lillinonah
Authority.
11) Scoreboard Project: Recommended Motion: Send a
request to the Planning Commission for an 8-24 Referral
for the installation of a Scoreboard
at 501 Candlewood Lake Road, Cadigan Park, by Brookfield for Youth
Football.
12) Greenridge Tax District Water
System: United Water Connecticut Inc. is requesting an easement over the
existing accessway used by Greenridge
Tax District owned by the Town to Greenridge Water System Well
No. 4. Recommended Motion: Approve the easement and
authorize the First Selectman to execute the
access easement to United Connecticut
Water Inc. over 2 Stage Road subject to review by the Town Attorney.
13) Gurski Barn Renovation Contract:
Recommended Motion: Approve
and authorize the First Selectman to
execute the Gurski Barn Renovation
Contract, subject to review by the Town Attorney.
